Ellie Reeves MP, Labour’s Shadow Solicitor General, responding to joint report on how CPS and police treat victims of rape, said:
“This report confirms what Labour have long been saying, victims of rape are being let down by this government on every front.
“Survivors of rape must have confidence in the criminal justice system. But this report shows an unacceptable deterioration in communication with victims and a lack of government action to address these failings.
“The Government should urgently introduce Labour’s root and branch reforms to support rape victims, as set out in our ending violence against women and girls green paper.”
