Resolution on Ceasefire in Gaza
Along with everyone who has seen the terrible pictures on the news, the members of the Executive Committee of Orpington Labour Party have been horrified by the suffering of ordinary people in Gaza.
At its meeting on Wednesday 14 January 2009, the Orpington CLP Executive Committee carried this resolution.
"In congratulating the Labour Government on its work for a complete ceasefire in the Israeli offensive, Orpington CLP calls upon it:
- to redouble its efforts to stop all military action on both sides and also to make it clear that all Israeli troops should be withdrawn from Gaza and other Palestine Territory immediately;
- to make representations to relevant governments and authorities to identify those who may have been responsible for war crimes against civilians and to institute appropriate prosecutions."
